The Rotary Club of Naples Bay participated in the Adopt a Precinct program. Nine of our members were able to attend this day of public (community) service and raise money for our club. We worked the poll as they say, by welcoming voters, checking them in, issuing ballots, and making sure every vote was counted by the machine. Folks left with a sticker and a smile.

The Rotary Club of Naples Bay has distributed over 400 pairs of brand-new sneakers to children and young people in need so far this year. The "Kicks for Kids" program that was started by Bob and Jane Moates in 1996 and run by Naples Bay since 2017 has been renamed "Bob Moates Kicks for Kids" in Bob's honor to continue his legacy.  
We donated 220 pairs to the Immokalee Lipman Farms Backpack Program and have made smaller donations to schools and shelters in the area. When a school like East Naples Middle School receives shoes, they are in various sizes for both boys and girls and are given out as the need arises. When the school or shelter's stock runs low, the needed sizes can be replenished from stock in storage. 
Bob Moates a long time Rotarian who past several years ago, began the program because he grew up in Texas and went to school without shoes. He understood the benefit of providing young people in need  with the basics that we take we sometimes take for granted. 
The program will be funded from the sale of the  "So Soup" Cookbook this fall, a District grant, and direct donations to the Naples Bay Foundation.
